Woman charged with culpable homicide following death of man in Galashiels

A woman's appeared in court charged with culpable homicide following the death of a 40-year-old man in Galashiels.

Brian Kowbel was taken to Borders General Hospital after being found injured at an address in the town's Chris Paterson Place around 6pm on Friday, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Simone Ramage, who's address was given as Galashiels, is also accused of possessing an air weapon without the appropriate certificate.

The 37-year-old made no plea when the case called in private at Selkirk Sheriff Court this afternoon (Monday).

She was committed for further examination and released on bail.
