Man, 20, admits being concerned in supply of heroin and cocaine in Galashiels

A 20-year-old man has admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine in Galashiels.
Lewis Mackie pled guilty to two separate charges at Selkirk Sheriff Court this afternoon (Monday).
Both offences took place at an address in the town's Beech Avenue and elsewhere between December 1st, 2020 and December 16th, 2021.
Mackie, who appeared via a video link from custody, also admitted possessing a prohibited weapon, namely a canister of CS spray.Â
Sentence was deferred until later this month for background reports.
Unpaid work
Meanwhile, a Borders hotel manager who admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine has been ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.
Selkirk Sheriff Court heard 11.3 grams of the Class A drug - with a street value of up to £250 - was recovered during a raid on Adam McElhaney's property in Innerleithen on February 20th, along with around £2,500 in cash, grip seal bags, scales and a mobile telephone containing messages.
The 30-year-old said he knows what he did was wrong and is trying to turn his life around.
Curfew
Elsewhere, a 23-year-old man who admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin at a property in Galashiels has been slapped with an overnight curfew.
Colin Adamson, now living in Duns, was caught with 32 grams of the Class A drug - worth between £720 and £960 - at an address in Kenilworth Avenue, on September 8th, 2021.
He must stay at home between the hours of 7pm and 7am.
