Gym-goers in Galashiels are being warned of 14 weeks of disruption ahead.

Scottish Water has notified the operators of TriFitness, at Netherdale, that it intends to start road works in the area on Tuesday (April 11th).

Road closures are expected across Tweed Road, Tweed Grove and Netherdale Brae.

A spokesperson for the Live Borders facility said: "During this time, no vehicle access will be permitted on the roads, but footpaths and pedestrian access will remain."

And they add: "TriFitness will remain accessible from Huddersfield Street/Dale Street, or from Winston Road."

The water company says its contractor, George Leslie, will work with Scottish Borders Council to ensure household bin collections are not impacted.

Work on site will be carried out between 8am and 6pm.

It added: "We would like to thank residents, road users and customers for their patience and understanding."

When and where will the works take place?

Phase one will take place between April 11th and 28th - a road closure will be in place on Tweed Road at the junction of Tweed Grove. Local diversion routes are in place along Abbotsford Road and Dale Street.

Phase two will take place between April 29th and May 26th. Netherdale Brae will be closed.

Phase three will take place from May 27th to July 14th - a single lane closure will be in place on Netherdale Brae.

And there will be a single lane closure on Larchfield Street for the duration of the works.
