Man denies 'failing to keep a proper lookout and colliding with cyclist'
A 61-year-old man has been charged with driving carelessly in Greenlaw.
It follows an incident on the A697 - West High Street - near its junction with the A6105 - Wester Row - on February the 26th last year.
Ian Cairns, who lives in the town, is accused of failing to keep a proper lookout and colliding with a cyclist.
He denies the offence, and the case was continued to trial at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on August the 1st, with an intermediate diet on July the 17th.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man who drove into another car at a crossroads near Hawick - causing both air bags to deploy - has been fined a total of £320 and had five penalty points added to his licence.
William Mercer, of Raeburn Meadow, Selkirk, was initially charged with dangerous driving following the collision on the B6359 road at Appletreehall on August the 4th last year.
But the road surfacer, who was travelling home from work in Denholm at the time - pled guilty to a reduced charge of careless driving when the case called at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.

Mercer's solicitor blamed "a momentary lapse in concentration" but, while his client was taken to Borders General Hospital with hip pain, the court heard he was apologetic, and the driver of the other vehicle didn't require any medical treatment.
