A man who admitted embezzling more than £12,000 from a car dealership in the Scottish Borders has been given six months to repay the money.

Gordon Thomson was working at Lloyd Land Rover, on Pinnaclehill Industrial Estate in Kelso, when he committed the offence, on a number of occasions between April 17th, 2019 and May 14th, 2019.

According to court papers, the 54-year-old - who gave an address in East Lothian - held a position of trust at the time.

Sentence has been deferred at Jedburgh Sheriff Court to allow for full repayment of the £12,350 taken.

Thomson is due to return on February 26th, 2024. And Sheriff Peter Paterson warned him he won't go unpunished.
