A woman has been charged in connection with a crash which claimed the life of a pensioner near Kelso.

Janette Davidson had been driving a grey Kia Venga on the B6397 road - between Floors Castle and Smailholm - when it was involved in a collision with a red Mercedes GLE 300, just north of the town.

It happened shortly before 9am on November the 11th last year. Emergency services attended but the 72-year-old, from Kelso, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement at the time, her family said: "Janette will be greatly missed by her family and the community."

Police have today (Tuesday) announced a 46-year-old woman, who hasn't been named, has been arrested in connection with the incident.

In a statement, officers say she has been released and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
