Thieves target cars at Borders beauty spot

Money and bank cards have been stolen during thefts from two cars parked at Neidpath Castle in Peebles.

Clothes and bags were also taken in the raids which took place less than a fortnight apart - the latest being on Friday afternoon last week.

Police are appealing for information.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Between 12.45pm and 4pm on Thursday, March 28th, several items were stolen from a black Peugeot 2008 which was parked within the Neidpath Castle car park.

"These items included clothing, bags, money and bank cards.

"A further theft has taken place within the same car park on Friday, April 5th, between 1.45pm and 4pm, when a brown leather bag was stolen from a red Honda CRV.

"Anyone who has any information in relation to either of these crimes is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 2212 April 5th.

"Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
