A teenager has admitted attacking a man in Peebles to his severe injury shortly before his case was due to go to trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

Liam Moffat - while acting with others - repeatedly punched the man on the head, whereby he fell to the ground, near his home in the town's Victoria Park Drive on July the 4th last year.

He had originally pled not guilty but the charge was today (Thursday) amended to show he was not acting alone.

The 19-year-old had already admitted a separate charge of repeatedly punching a man on the head in Peebles' High Street on May 6th this year.

Sentence has been deferred on both matters until November the 27th for reports, including a restriction of liberty order assessment.
