Man, 64, remanded in custody following private hearing at Selkirk Sheriff Court

A 64-year-old man's appeared in court charged with a number of offences alleged to have taken place in the Borders.

Neil McNairn, from Galashiels, is accused of assault, malicious mischief, threatening or abusive behaviour and possession of an offensive weapon, in addition to two breaches of bail.

He made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private on petition at Selkirk Sheriff Court today (Tuesday).

He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

McNairn is due to appear back in court again within the next eight days.
