Man charged with failing to comply with notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act

A 40-year-old man has been charged with failing to comply with the notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act.

Ashley Bell - whose address was given as Bannerfield Drive, Selkirk - is alleged to have failed to notify police within three days of the use of the name Ashley Burns.

The offence is alleged to have been committed between December 19th, 2020, and January 11th, 2022.

Bell pled not guilty at Jedburgh Sheriff Court and the case was continued to trial on August 31st, with a preliminary hearing on August 14th.
