Storm Jocelyn is continuing to cause disruption across our region.

A number of roads have been closed due to fallen trees and flooding; dozens of homes have been left without power; and all services on the Borders Railway remain on hold until safety checks have been carried out.

Winds of up to 60mph have also meant the household waste recycling centre in Berwick is unable to open.

The Met Office has extended its yellow weather warning until 3pm this afternoon.

Among the areas affected: the A72 was closed just west of the Nest roundabout due to dangerous overhanging tree.

The B6360 Gattonside to Lowood Bridge was closed due to fallen tree, Peel road - between Clovenfords and Walkerburn - and Winston Road in Galashiels were also closed for the same reason.

Work was ongoing to remove trees blocking the A708 Yarrow Valley and B7009 Ettrick Valley roads.

Due to property damage, Brougham Place in Hawick was closed to both pedestrians and vehicles. Access to Trinity Gardens was also restricted and the bus stop there suspended.

The B712 at Dawyck remained closed due to flooding, and there was debris on all other routes.

SP Energy Networks says its engineers are working as quickly as possible to restore supplies, with up to 350 homes left without power overnight.

Meanwhile, the clean-up is continuing in Jedburgh following Storm Isha.

The Border Meringues coffee shop, off Edinburgh Road, was forced to close after the Jed Water burst its banks overnight on Sunday.

However, it has since announced it hopes to reopen later this week.
