Police investigating the theft of two cars from Stow say they've recovered one of the vehicles in a car park in Edinburgh.

The Volvo - which was taken from a property in Mill Road last month - was found in the Granton area of the city at the weekend.

But a white Audi, taken from the same address, remains missing.

It's understood the suspects snatched the keys after breaking into the Borders property some time between 3am and 4.30am on August 30th, before fleeing up the A7.

A third vehicle - a blue Ford Transit - was also taken from the same address but abandoned in a nearby park after, it's understood, the thieves were unable to get it started.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Following our previous appeal on two cars stolen from outside a property on Mill Road, Stow, the Volvo XC60 was traced in a car park in the Granton area of Edinburgh by road policing officers on Saturday (September 9th).

"Enquiries are continuing into this incident and we would re-appeal to anyone with information that may assist us to contact 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 0441 of Wednesday, August 30th, 2023."
