Woman, 75, in hospital with serious injuries after car left road and collided with three pedestrians on pavement
A 75-year-old woman is in hospital with serious injuries after she was hit by a car which left the road and collided with three pedestrians on the pavement.
Two other women, aged 68 and 71, were also injured in the crash involving a Mitsubishi Eclipse on the A698 in Denholm.
They were taken to Borders General Hospital, where their injuries have been described as "non-serious".
The 60-year-old man who was driving the car was also taken to the BGH for treatment.

The dramatic scenes unfolded in a 20mph zone, near the eastern entrance to the village, around 3.10pm yesterday (Friday).
And the road was closed for more than eight hours while police examined the scene.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Sergeant Grant Hastie, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision and would urge anyone with information to get in touch.
“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area are around the time of the collision.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2094 of December 22nd, 2023.”
The 75-year-old woman is being cared for at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh.
