Driver Jailed for Killing Teenager in Bradford
The collision happened back in February of 2019
A Bradford man has been jailed for causing the death of his nephew by dangerous driving.
Lejan Lancaster-Baxter, 35, of Fagley, admitted to causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving after the collision on Harrogate Road in February 2019.
Bradley Aldridge, 19 was a passenger in the Golf, he died as a result of his injuries from the collision.
A second occupant in the car, a 21-year-old man, was injured in the collision and has since recovered from his injuries.
Today at Bradford Crown Court Lancaster-Baxter was sentenced to 32 months in jail. He was also banned from driving for nine years and four months.
Detective Sergeant Paul Lightowler of the Major Collision Enquiry Team said:
“This case stands as a tragic example of the dreadful consequences that driving dangerously can have.
“Bradley was 19 when he died and had his whole life ahead of him. He also had a young son, who now will grow up without a father.
“I hope this sends out a clear message that speeding on our roads kills and we will not tolerate people who clearly break the law.”
