Local election results for West Yorkshire

We've been voting for our first ever metro Mayor and in local council elections

Thursday (6th May) saw elections for local councils in West Yorkshire, as well as polling for our first ever directly election metro Mayor.

Most of the counts are taking place on Saturday, with results due for Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Leeds by the evening.

However Wakefield's gone early and already completed its totting up, the local authority remains under Labour control.

Whilst the mayoral votes won't be counted until Sunday.

RESULTS

  • BRADFORD COUNCIL - Labour hold
  • CALDERDALE COUNCIL - Labour hold
  • KIRKLEES COUNCIL - No change - no overall control; Labour biggest party
  • LEEDS CITY COUNCIL - Labour hold
  • WAKEFIELD COUNCIL - Labour hold
  • WEST YORKSHIRE MAYOR - result not yet declared
