Avon and Somerset Police say they have found a body in the search for missing University of Bristol student Olisa Odukwe.

Olisa, who was 20, disappeared from his home in Redland on Saturday morning (01/05).

Officers announced this morning that a body has been found by police divers in the Bristol Harbour near Narrow Quay. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Formal identification has not yet taken place at time of writing, but the police say his family has been told.

They say their thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

Olisa played football for the University of Bristol and in a post shared on Instagram, the University of Bristol Association Men's Football Club (UBAFC) say they are grieving the loss of "our dear friend".

"Olisa was universally loved; a kind, gentle and funny character who brought a smile to the face of whoever he was with," the post reads.

"Thank you for all your phenomenal support across the last few days.

"Please keep Olisa's family and friends in your thoughts at this difficult time."

In a brief statement shared online the University says the same, while adding support is available for all students and staff affected by the news.

They have also shared a link to their wellbeing support page, which you can access here.
