Police across the South West are asking for help to find a man suspected of being involved in a "major drugs conspiracy".

Since 2020 seven people have been given jail time for their involvement in the same case amounting to a combined total of 60 years.

Most recently on 6 October four Bristolians were sentenced to between 12 years and 20 months for their parts in supplying 46kg of cocaine across the region, with a street value of £1.65 million.

Olympic athlete Leon Reid has also been implicated in the case.

In February 2022 the Ireland international sprinter, who lived in Bath, was ordered to carry out 220 hours of unpaid work after being found guilty of allowing his flat to be used to produce cocaine.

Now, the National Crime Agency (NCA) is asking for help to find 31-year-old Christopher Barbosa, formerly of Dingle View, Sea Mills, Bristol, who it's thought could be involved.

Christopher Barbosa is wanted on several drugs charges

"Barbosa is charged with three offences of conspiracy to supply class A drugs – cocaine, heroin and crack cocaine – as well as conspiracy to conceal criminal property and acquiring criminal property," a statement from the NCA reads.

Barbosa was arrested as part of the same investigation several years ago, but then failed to appear at Bristol Magistrates Court on 31 March 2021, and has not been seen since.

He is described as mixed race, 6ft (1.8m) tall, stocky build, with black hair, brown eyes and may have a beard.

If you see him it's advised you do not approach him, but instead call 999 and quote the reference number 5221194084.

You can also call 101 with any other information or give information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
