Three people have been arrested in connection with a potentially fraudulent fundraising page, set-up after four young men died in a Wiltshire crash.

The collision, which police called "truly devastating", took place on the A4 Derry Hill in August.

The four victims were Ryan Nelson and Jordan Rawlings, both 20, and 19-year-olds Corey Owen and Matthew Parke.

The GoFundMe page in question: 'Jordan, Corey, Matt, Ryan Memorial' was not arranged by any of the victims' families.

On 22 October, Wiltshire Police arrested a 32-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy on suspicion of fraud by false representation in the Northamptonshire area.

Officers then returned to the region on 2 December, arresting a 36-year-old man on suspicion of the same offence.

All three have since been released under investigation.

'Truly devastating for the local community'

Inspector James Brain, from the Chippenham Area Community Policing Team, said: "The collision back in August was truly devastating for the local community in Calne.

"I know many people will have seen this fundraising page as an opportunity to show how much they cared and to ensure that a lasting memorial to the four young men was created for the town.

"I want to reassure everyone that we are carrying out detailed enquiries to understand exactly what has happened with regards to this donation page".

Anyone who contributed to this specific fundraiser is now being urged to call Wiltshire Police on 101.
