Banana the 'psychic' seal from Cornwall predicts the UK's next Prime Minister
She built up a rep after successfully predicting the Euro 2020 scores

Banana the so-called psychic seal, from the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, has predicted who the UK's next Prime Minister will be.
She built a reputation as a fortune teller after successfully predicting the Euro 2020 scores last year (although let's not talk about that).
Now with Boris Johnson having resigned, Banana, who has no political affiliations herself, is ready to sniff out the next Conservative Party leader.
Ben Fowler, Animal Care Supervisor at the Gweek sanctuary, said: “The process is quite simple – we just ask Banana to come and choose between one of her usual station markers (each with a potential new leader’s face on it).
“She then chooses between which one she likes the look of the most, or who she thinks will be the next leader!
“Will she be right? Well, I guess we’ll see!”

It’s important to note that this kind of activity is key to helping animals like Banana, who is a permanent resident at the sanctuary, to remain engaged and active, as well as encouraging them to exhibit natural behaviours.
Ben added: “While we can’t take any responsibility for how Banana makes her choice, what we do know is she has a pretty good knack for getting it right. So, keep your eyes peeled!”
Rescued back in 2018 from Trevellas Cove, Banana was about eight-months-old when she was found malnourished with bite wounds to her flippers (as well as parasitic pneumonia).
While she was nursed back to health and later released, she was then re-rescued after facing difficulties and being unable to care for herself in the wild.
Today, she lives at the sanctuary and spends most of her time whiling her days away in the sun, as well as winding up the animal care team during cleaning time.
