Biker taken to hospital with serious injuries following crash on busy road near Truro

A biker has suffered serious injuries following a crash on a busy road near Truro.

A car and a motorbike were involved in the collision on the A3075 at Penhallow just after 11am on Wednesday (22nd June).

Police, fire crews and paramedics were all called to the scene and the casualty has been taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

At the time, a force spokesperson said: "Police were called at 11.05am today, 22nd June, following a collision between a car and a motorcycle on the A3075 at Penhallow, Truro.

"Fire and ambulance on scene.

"The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Derriford Hospital.

"The road is blocked and closed at this time."

There was slow traffic in the area but it has now been confirmed that the road has reopened.

Inrix Traffic and Travel says: "A3075 in both directions re-opened, traffic returned to normal, accident cleared between Mithian turn off (Penhallow) and B3284 (Blackwater).

"Sensors indicate the road has re opened."
