Police investigating a serious assault in Newquay have released CCTV images of two men they want to identify.

Officers say a man in his 20s was punched in the face, knocked to the floor and kicked last month.

It happened outside a takeaway in Central Square in the early hours of Sunday 22nd May.

Officers say the casualty suffered serious injuries and ended up being taken to hospital.

Devon & Cornwall Police want to identify the two men pictured in connection to the incident.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the force via 101 or via Crimestoppers.

In a statement, the force said: "Police are seeking the public’s help to identify two men in connection with a serious assault in Newquay.

"A man sustained serious injuries after being assaulted outside a takeaway in Central Square in the early hours of 22nd May.

"The victim, a man in his 20s, was punched in the face and knocked to the floor before being kicked a number of times. He sustained head and facial injuries and was taken to hospital.

"Police are appealing for information and would like to identify the two men pictured in connection with the incident.
