Consultation launched on plans to close four day centres in Cornwall
The council is reviewing the cost of running its sites at Bude, Launceston, Bodmin and Newquay

Cornwall residents are being invited to have their say on the proposed closure of four Day Centres.
Cornwall Council currently provides a range of activities at 12 sites across Cornwall and is reviewing the cost of running centres in Bude, Bodmin, Newquay and Launceston, alongside how many people currently use them.
Cornwall Council cabinet member for adults and public health Cllr Andy Virr said: "Supporting residents through Covid-19 has led to some changes in the way people have been supported and we are looking to make sure the services we run are still fit for purpose as well as being good value for money.
"We can see that fewer people are using these sorts of traditional services and alongside our programme to 'Deliver Better Care' we need to look at how we support people to do the activities that best meet their individual outcomes".
These Day Centres are mainly used by people with learning disabilities and staff will work closely with 20 people who could be directly affected by the proposed closure to make sure they are able to access alternative support that meets their needs.
Work has already taken place to understand the views of people who use these services to help shape the sorts of activities that people would like to do in the future.
