A Cornish care home has confirmed it has seen a number of coronavirus-related deaths.

Tregenna House in Camborne says the outbreak was contained to one small unit.

Sadly some residents passed away, however numbers are not published out of respect for the families.

Bosses say there has been a drop in the number of staff testing positive too, adding that their other care home remains free of the virus.

tre-Care Group says it is in regular contact with health officials to make sure all its safety measures are up-to-date, which they are.

"We have had an outbreak at Tregenna House after 10 months remaining clear.

"The outbreak has been contained to one small unit thanks to the tremendous efforts of our staff.

"Vaccinations were made available to all residents and staff some weeks ago.

"Despite best efforts, some staff have tested positive and have been self-isolating, with the majority now clear and back in the workplace.

"Unfortunately we have had some resident deaths through COVID but we do not publish figures out of respect for the families.

"We are in regular contact with Public Health England and associated health care professionals who have praised our efforts of containing the virus and to reinforce, we are up to date in all our practices, which we are.

"Our stringent testing regime strengthens our efforts as we continue to receive negative results for residents and a considerable drop in staff testing positive.

"Our other Care Home fortunately remains free and clear from the virus".
