A fundraising appeal has been launched to help the Cornish mum whose home was badly damaged by fire.

Flames tore through the first floor of the semi-detached house in Rock, shared by Heather and her four daughters.

Luckily no-one was hurt but the girls' bedrooms have been completely destroyed, along with toys, clothes, family keepsakes and recent birthday presents.

Firefighters from Wadebridge, Bodmin, Delabole, St Austell and St Austell rushed to the scene on Monday evening.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service has since confirmed the cause of the blaze was accidental and spread.

Heather's sister Hazel has set up a GoFundMe page to support the family, while they wait to find temporary accomodation.

"Sadly my sister Heather's beautiful family home caught fire today, with devastating results.

"Heather shares her home with her 4 beautiful girls Milly 9, Dylan 7, Nell 5 and baby Penelope 8 months old.

"The fire has completely destroyed the whole top floor, this was the girls bedrooms. They have lost everything from toys, baby blankets, clothes, family keepsakes, school uniforms, birthday presents they had received two days before at Dylan and Nells joint birthday party.

"Please help me by raising some money to support Heather and her girls whilst wheels are in motion to find temporary accommodation.

"Thank you all so much for your support and kindness".
