Firefighters say derelict building blaze on outskirts of Camborne was arson
Saturday's fire at Tuckingmill is the third of its kind in just over a week
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed a derelict building fire on the outskirts of Camborne was arson.
Crews have been liaising with police following the incident on Pendarves Street, Tuckingmill on Saturday afternoon.
The blaze is the third of its kind to affect a derelict property in the area in just over a week.
On Sunday 16th January, teams from Tolvaddon, Truro and a wholetime officer were called to reports of people trapped inside a burning building at Tuckingmill.
However, after a thorough search, no-one was found.
That call came less than 24hrs after thick, black smoke was reported to be billowing from a building in the same area.
In a statement about the latest fire, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two appliances from Tolvaddon attended a call to a derelict building on fire in Tuckingmill.
"The single storey building measured 12 x 8 metres.
"Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
"The fire was confirmed as arson and firefighters liaised with police officers on scene".
