Pink hearts are going to be pinned at the edges of roads in west Cornwall, from Truro to Hayle.

The laminated hearts will carry mental health support numbers, as well as messages of positivity.

It follows two tragic incidents in the space of a week on the A30, where two men lost their lives.

Jess Clotworthy from Camborne came up with the idea and she is hoping people will join her to place the hearts on Saturday.

Since her initial appeal on social media, hundreds of people have offered to get involved or help.

Posting on Facebook, Jess said: "I want to raise as much awareness as possible and get as many people involved to help save as many lives as we can, even if it just stops one person from leaving this life".

Speaking about Saturday's meet-up, she said: "I was at work and we were just talking about everything that's gone on recently and the isolation with Covid and how it's affected people quite badly, and I came up with the little idea of 'how about we get some contact details out there'?

"My aim is to go just from Hayle to Truro to get the word spread. Then, if we've got any left over, hopefully go on to local parks or coastal paths and just get some positivity spread".

Jess is inviting anyone who wants to help to meet at Morrisons in Pool at 11am on Saturday 18th September.
