A huge fire in south-east Cornwall has scrambled firefighters from both sides of the Tamar.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue tweeted to say multiple crews were at the scene of a large blaze at a commercial property in the Hatt area.

Teams on the ground later confirmed the buildings involved are a barn and workshop.

Saltash Community Fire Station says six pumps were at the scene from the town, Callington, Camels Head, Crown Hill and Greenbank.

The aerial ladder from Devon and water carriers from Liskeard and Plympton have also been scrambled, along with the welfare vehicle from St Dennis.

Saltash Community Fire Station shared photos on social media and confirmed everyone is OK.

The blaze broke out late on Friday night and, at one point, the A388 from Hatt to the Carkeel roundabout at Saltash was closed in both directions.

Shortly after 7am, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: "Good progress has been made throughout the night. The incident is being scaled down to two major pumping appliances".
