A man who sent a fake parcel bomb to a village in Cornwall has been jailed.

Lee Moody sent the package to an address in Flushing in January, which led to 300 people being evacuated from their homes while bomb disposal experts dealt with it.

Swansea Crown Court heard Moody had lived on a boat at the harbour for 15 years - before sending the fake bomb to a developer due to revamp the coastline.

He drove two hundred and thirty miles to Guildford in Surrey to post it.

Moody admitted the bomb hoax charge along with sending a letter intending to cause distress or anxiety to the recipient.

The 58 year old from St Dogmaels in Pembrokeshire was given a two year sentence, with an additional six months for sending a threatening letter to run concurrently, and a ten year restraining order banning him from entering Penryn or Flushing, or contacting his victim.
