Missing 14-year-old from Saltash found safe and well

Police have confirmed that a 14-year-old girl who went missing from the Saltash area has been found safe and well.

An urgent appeal was issued to try and find Sophie Smith, who had not been seen since Wednesday night.

Officers were urging anyone who saw the youngster to call 999.

They are now thanking the public for their help.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Sophie Smith, who had been reported missing to police from the Saltash area has been located safe and well.

"Thank you for your assistance in response to this matter."
