A cat that went viral after being found with a tuna can stuck around its neck in Cornwall has a new home.

The moggie, who has now been named Tuna, was spotted in Saltash last month and was eventually caught.

He was taken in by the RSPCA and taken to vets who managed to cut him free.

An appeal then went out to try and trace an owner or find him a new family.

Now the animal rescue charity has confirmed that he has a new home ready and waiting.

Tuna is now doing well and has a new home to go to

"The famous Tuna can cat has a new life waiting for him.

"He was recently castrated, tested for FIV/FeLV (of which he was negative), microchipped and ear tipped.

"A wonderful cottage has been found for him where he can live out his years however he pleases. The family are happy to offer him their home should he want it.

"But if not, he has acres of farm land to explore and outbuildings where he can be warm, snug and cared for."
