Pedestrian in 'stable' condition after suffering life-threatening injuries in Newquay crash

A pedestrian remains in a stable condition in hospital after a serious crash in Newquay.

Police say the man suffered life-threatening injuries after being caught in a collision with a car.

It happened on Cliff Road in the town centre on Thursday afternoon.

Officers say the driver is helping them with their enquiries.

Now an appeal has gone out for anyone who has dashcam footage, or who saw what happened, to get in touch.

"At approximately 15.17hrs on Thursday 10th December police were informed of a road traffic collision on Cliff Road, Newquay, involving a red Lexus motor vehicle and a male pedestrian.

"The pedestrian was taken from the scene to hospital with serious life threatening injuries, although his condition is now stable.

"Specialist officers from the Devon and Cornwall’s Alliance Roads Policing Team attended the scene and gathered evidence.

"The driver of the vehicle is helping Police with their enquiries.

"A full investigation of the scene took place and officers are working to establish the exact cause of this collision.

"Police would like to thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene."

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision and who may have dash cam footage to telephone 101 quoting Log 570 10/12/2020.
