The pool at a holiday resort near Newquay has allegedly been trashed by guests.

Atlantic Reach posted a picture to social media, showing furniture dumped in the water.

Bosses are calling the damage and costly clean-up a huge kick in the teeth, especially in the wake of the pandemic.

The team has been checking CCTV and urging anyone who might have seen something to come forward.

They have since told us the incident, discovered on Sunday morning (8th August) has been reported to police.

Atlantic Reach described this type of antisocial behaviour as "disgusting" in a post on social media.

The team said: "Happy Sunday everyone. Some helpful guests completely trashed our outdoor pool and a vast amount of furniture last night. Just what we need.

"If anyone has any information that might help us track the culprits down please get in touch.

"Service will be a bit slow this morning folks. Apologies".

They later thanked everyone for their support, saying they were "blown away" by the comments: "Now we face a big clean up, a major safety issue while we assess the full extent of damage, a closed pool, less furniture for wonderful guests to sit on when the sun shines again, more cost that really is a huge kick in the teeth and a lot of additional stress for an already, very hard working team.

"This antisocial behaviour is utterly disgusting".

We have contacted Devon & Cornwall Police for more information and updates will appear below.
