Submarine spotted off the coast of Cornwall and its crew were reportedly having a BBQ!

Here is something you do not see every day - a submarine off the Cornish coast!

Yes, you did read that right.

The vessel was spotted in Mount's Bay over the Easter weekend and its crew appeared to be having a BBQ on deck!

The crew of a submarine, spotted off the Cornish coast, appear to have enjoyed a BBQ on deck!

Local photographer, Abdel Bakrim, shared these photos on social media and they have gone viral.

Naturally, people were wondering if the sub was British and we contacted the Royal Navy for a statement.

No-one has got back to us yet but eagle-eyed viewers were quick to point out they thought the vessel was Dutch.

The submarine, believed to be from the Dutch Navy, was spotted in Mount's Bay over the Easter weekend

The crew have since tweeted photos of themselves eating, listening to music and watching dolphins swim by...

Abdel Bakrim said: "In case you missed it... A rare sighting of a submarine off Mount's Bay.

"A Dutch Walrus class attack sub. The crew had a barbecue on deck and watched the sunset!".

He later tweeted: "Couldn't quite believe what I was seeing when it surfaced in the bay - my first submarine".
