Teenage girl attacked by four men on Plymouth Hoe

They grabbed and stepped on the 17-year-old before running off

A police appeal has been issued after a 17-year-old girl was set upon by four men on Plymouth Hoe.

Officers say the teenager was attacked at around 8.15pm on Monday night, near to the war memorial.

The young woman was grabbed and stepped on before then men ran off.

Anyone who saw what happened or has any information is asked to contact police.

"Police are appealing for witnesses of the assault of a 17-year-old girl by four men on Plymouth Hoe, yesterday evening, Monday 5th October.

"The attack occurred at around 8.15pm near to the war memorial during which the young woman was grabbed and stepped on. The men then ran off.

"Police would like to hear from any witnesses and would particularly like to speak to a man who intervened at the scene."
