Teenager dies following serious collision in Hayle

The 19-year-old pedestrian had been airlifted to Derriford Hospital, but later passed away

A 19-year-old woman who suffered injuries following a collision in Hayle on Wednesday has died.

Police were called at around 3.50pm on 17th November to reports of an incident involving a Land Rover Discovery on Fore Street.

The casualty from Redruth was taken to Derriford Hospital with critical injuries but later passed away.

Anyone who saw what happened or who may have dashcam footage is asked to contact police.

Devon & Cornwall Police said: "A 19-year-old woman who sustained injuries following a collision in Hayle on Wednesday has died.

"Police were called at approximately 3:50pm on Wednesday 17 November, following reports that a collision occurred on Fore Street, between a Land Rover Discovery and a 19-year-old woman from Redruth.

"As a result of the collision, the female pedestrian was conveyed to Derriford hospital with critical injuries. She has since been confirmed deceased.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team who attended are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision or have dash camera footage to contact police on 101@dc.police.uk, quoting the log number 526 of 17 November".
