The latest major event for Coventry City of Culture is beginning today (Friday).

It's called FAITH - and has been worked on by the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Over 24 hours - there will be multiple performances looking at different faiths and views from across the city.

Here's what's on the agenda for the 24 hours.

FRIDAY 10 SEPTEMBER

Discover the ingredients to a good life as you follow a range of cook-along videos online while an invited audience of Faith and Community Leaders meet to share food and engage in discussion about how faith shapes their lives.

SATURDAY 11 SEPTEMBER

Faith centres and spaces across Coventry will open their doors for an Open House, sharing more about their beliefs, practices, and work in the community.

There's four new plays directed by RSC Deputy Artistic Director Erica Whyman; The Messenger, The Return, The Arrival, and Generation 20, and hear the stories of important moments in everyday life – from birth to love to death, as you walk through the streets of Coventry.

A series of pop-up performances and installations, inspired by the themes of Faith and created by City Voices, will take place across the city for audiences to experience throughout the day on Saturday.

Faith will culminate in an extraordinary Ceremony of Light in Millennium Place as a pledge to move forward together and respect our differences.

The majority of these events are available to see in person, with others available online.

Chenine Bhathena, Creative Director of Coventry, City of Culture, said:

“We are delighted to have developed this extraordinary collaboration between locally based creatives, representatives of the many faith communities of Coventry, City Voices and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

We can’t wait for visitors to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Coventry, a proud interfaith city of peace and reconciliation."
