A man - described as one of Coventry's most prolific shoplifters - has been jailed.

David Wills was jailed for 20 weeks and given a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning him from a number of city locations.

The court heard how Wills, 37, of no fixed address, had stolen from shops around the city and acted in a way which could cause harassment, alarm or distress to the people he encountered.

As a result, he was jailed for theft from shops on 26 February.

Under the terms of the CBO, Wills is banned from:

  • Going to the Warwickshire Shopping Park in Binley
  • Entering any Marks & Spencer store in England and Wales
  • Entering any Boots store in England and Wales

The CBO was granted to prevent Wills from engaging in more anti-social behaviour and crime and protect businesses.
