Investigation after deaths of man and woman in Coventry

West Midlands Police is investigating, after the deaths of a man and woman in Coventry today (Friday 5 April).

Officers were called to Caludon Road shortly after 5.30am.

A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene while the woman, also in her 50s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

She died from her injuries a short time later.

The people are believed to have been known to each other and their next-of-kin are being supported by officers.

The force says it will be holding a scene at the address today, to establish exactly what happened, but it would like to reassure the public that it believes this was an isolated incident.

Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident at this stage.
