Police appeal for witnesses to aggravated burglary in Nuneaton

Police are appealing for witnesses to reports of an aggravated burglary in Nuneaton where two men were assaulted and suffered cuts to their head.

It happened on Ivy Grove in the town at around 8.20pm on Saturday evening (23 December).

Two unknown suspects with bladed objects are understood to have knocked on the door before threatening the three people in the house.

Two men inside – both in their 30s – were assaulted and suffered cuts to their head, which are not believed to be life-threatenng at this time.

The suspects, who were wearing balaclavas, are also reported to have threatened a woman in her 30s who was in the property and stole a ring along with a gold bracelet.

It is not known in which direction they left the area.

Detective Constable Erin Kelly said: "Enquiries are currently ongoing and we're keen for anyone who saw the incident to come forward.

“We understand this is concerning to the community but we would like to reassure them we have begun a thorough investigation and are working hard to try and identify the suspects.

“We'd ask anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or who has information, dashcam or CCTV footage to please get in touch.

“No matter how small, your information could be crucial to our investigation.”
