Increase in police presence in Whitehaven after men arrested over firearm incident
The incident happened yesterday.
Three people have been arrested by Cumbria police on suspicion of possession of a firearm in Whitehaven.
Officers were deployed to the Meadow Road area yesterday afternoon.
The incident was report at 2.50pm yesterday.
Police said:
"Residents may see an increased police presence in the area as investigations continue.
As a precaution, firearms officers were deployed during an earlier stage of the enquiry."
