Man appears in court charged with Ryan Kirkpatrick murder

A man has appeared in court today charged with the murder of Ryan Kirkpatrick in Carlisle last September.

Liam Craig Porter, 32, of Fulmar Place, Carlisle, appeared before the city’s magistrates’ court this morning.

Porter was remanded in custody ahead of a further appearance before Carlisle Crown Court tomorrow (March 16).

He also faces an alternative charge of manslaughter in connection with the death of Mr Kirkpatrick as well as a charge of assisting an offender.

Investigations have been underway and continue following the death of Mr Kirkpatrick in Carlisle city centre on September 18 last year.
