Man bailed as part of investigations following Christmas Day death in Workington

A man arrested as part of an on-going investigation into the death of a man in Workington has been released on police bail.

A 33-year-old man was found dead on Christmas Day in his home address at Clay Street, Workington.

Police were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service shortly after 5:55 pm on December 25.

At the time a cordon was also in place on South Watt Street in Workington in connection with the incident.

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder but has now been bailed whilst investigations continue to ascertain the exact circumstances of the man's death.

Police have however confirmed that there are no outstanding individuals relating to this investigation.

As a result, members of the public may see an increased police presence in the area.
