Man charged after Whitehaven incident
A man's in a critical but stable condition
Officers investigating an incident in Whitehaven in the early hours of Sunday morning (14 April) have charged a man with grievous bodily harm with intent.
It happened on George Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The injured man, aged in his 30s, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Liam McConnell, who's 29, and of no fixed address is due in court later
Two other men arrested have been released with no further action.
