Police appeal for information following a fatal A7 collision

Cumbria Police are investigating a fatal collision which happened yesterday (22 May) when a HGV left the road and collided with a building.

The driver of the HGV, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident occurred at around 4.10pm on Wednesday afternoon, on the A7 at Scotsdyke, almost on the border with Scotland.

At this time, it is believed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or the moments immediately before or after.
