'Dotty' exhibition on show in Derbyshire
It's inspired by a creation at the Tate Modern
Erewash Museum is going dotty with a large-scale community art project.
People of all ages are encouraged to visit the Ilkeston-based museum, the inside of which will be covered in white paper from Thursday 2 until Saturday 25 February. Visitors can collect multi-coloured dot stickers from the museum reception and decorate the Lally Gallery located in Dalby House. The result will be a community art piece, filled with colour, pattern and collaboration.
The interactive exhibition is inspired by Yayoi’s Kusama’s Obliteration Room at the Tate last summer.
Leader of Erewash Borough Council, Councillor Carol Hart, said:
“The Big Dot exhibition is a wonderfully fun project for families to get involved in this February. I look forward to seeing visitors getting creative, making patterns and pictures from the stickers. I have no doubt that the final product will be an impressive community art piece.”
