Large stretches of the A6 were closed on Sunday as areas like Ashford in the Water, Rowsley and Buxton were affected, alongside Matlock and Matlock Bath.

Derbyshire Dales District Council issued this warning earlier after heavy rain, strong winds and poor conditions continued overnight:

One shopkeeper in Matlock told us, "It's like two years ago. We're flooded out again. We've lost stock in the warehouse because we couldn't get there in time, and the power is off.

"It's the third time we've been flooded in four years and according to some they say it's a once in a lifetime event. I can't estimate the amount of stock we've lost. There's two and half foot of water in the building"

As the clean up operation gets underway, conditions are expected to improve. The Environment Agency has also now removed Flood Warnings issued yesterday for the River Derwent at Darley Bridge, Chatsworth, Litton Mill and Baslow, Bubnell, Grindleford & Calver.
