Two charged with assaults on police officers in Derbyshire

It follows separate incidents in Matlock and Derby

Two men have been charged with assaulting two police officers in separate incidents in Derbyshire.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in Lime Grove Walk, Matlock just after 3pm on Saturday 28 January.

One of the officers was kicked to the face while detaining a man at the scene.

Joshua Hancock, of Lime Grove Walk, Matlock, was charged with common assault of an emergency worker and criminal damage. The 22-year-old has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Hours later, just after midnight on Sunday 29 January, officers were called to an incident in Aston Close, Derby.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle, while they were being arrested one of the officers was allegedly assaulted.

Jason Mouser, of Aston Close, has been charged with theft from a motor vehicle and assaulting an emergency worker.

The 28-year-old appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court on Monday 30 January and has been bailed to appear in court again in May.
