Biker dies at the scene of a crash on the A386 near Tavistock

An appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage has been made by police

A biker has died following a collision on the edge of Dartmoor.

The A386 Parkdown Road, Tavistock was closed for several hours while emergency services attended the scene.

Devon & Cornwall Police is appealing for witnesses and those with dashcam footage to get in touch.

"On Friday 22nd October 2021, police were advised of a Road Traffic Collision on the A386, Parkdown Road, Tavistock in Devon.

"Police attended the scene along with South West Ambulance and the Devon Air Ambulance. A motorcyclist involved in the collision unfortunately was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Unit and Forensic Collision Investigators attended, and the road was closed for a number of hours whilst a specialist examination and recovery took place.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have been in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage are asked to contact 101, quoting log number 357 of 22/10/21.

"Police would like to thank the public for their patience during the closure while the scene was investigated."
