Man in his 90s seriously injured in Blandford crash

A car collided with a mobility scooter in the Tabernacle

A man in his 90s has been seriously injured, after a car collided with his mobility scooter in Blandford.

Police are looking for the driver of a grey BMW 320 saloon car involved in the crash in the Tabernacle at around 1.00pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 22nd May).

The pedestrian's in hospital - his injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening.

Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the traffic unit, said:

“A road closure remained in place while officers investigated the collision. We would like to thank members of the public for their patience.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving of the BMW 320 saloon in the moments leading up to the collision, to please come forward.

“Also, I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage from The Tabernacle area of town near to Blandford Post Office at around 1pm on Tuesday 22 May 2024.”
