Three people have been rescued from Portland Harbour.

Their rib capsized on Saturday morning. (5 September)

They spent half an hour in the sea before they were pulled from the water at Crabbers Wharf in Castletown by the crew of a passing boat.

A spokesman for Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team said:

"On our arrival the three casualty's had been taken inside Crabbers Wharf holiday apartments, who had kindly provided them with hot drinks, dry clothing and a place of warmth.

"The casualty's were given care by the team until the paramedics arrived on scene.

"Two of the casualties were confirmed to be ok but the most elderly of the three, after spending up to half and hour in the water, it was decided it would be best to be taken for a full check up at Dorset County Hospital.

"We'd like to thank Crabbers' Wharf for their assistance."
